COVID Safe Information

The Burnie Arts Centre - Town Hall & Theatre operate in accordance with Tasmanian Public Health Guidelines.

To help protect ourselves and others from illnesses, Tasmanian Public Health advises that practising safe hygiene is still crucial. This includes sanitising your hands upon entering a building and staying at home if you feel unwell.

Although not mandatory, mask-wearing is recommended for people at higher risk of illness, or have had a recent illness, especially indoors where maintaining physical distancing is difficult.

Contactless card payments are the preferred payment option at the Box Office, Bars & Kiosks.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT

As we work together to ensure the Burnie Arts Centre is a COVID Safe venue, the below outlines some measures you can expect on your upcoming visit.

CAPACITY LIMITS & SEATING CONFIGURATIONS
In accordance with Public Health approval the Burnie Arts & Function Centre is currently selling tickets up to 100% capacity for all performances. This means there will not be physical distancing within the Town Hall and Theatre, and you may have patrons sitting directly next to, close to, in front of, and behind you.

FACE MASKS

ARRIVAL TIMES
Our foyers will open 1 hour prior to the start of the show. Please help us with social distancing by arriving early.

For popular shows, staggered arrival times or alternate entrance points may be used to prevent crowding at the entrance to the venue and in the foyers. A pre-show email will be sent to you 24-72 hours prior to your performance with up-to-date information on your arrival time.

VENUE ACCESS
Doors to the theatre and town hall will open approximately 30 minutes prior to show time to allow time for you to move safely to your seat. Once you have purchased food and beverage, merchandise and visited the restrooms, we ask that you move swiftly to your seat to avoid crowding in the foyers.

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE WHEN QUEUING & MOVING
To assist with social distancing, we strongly encourage you to stay in your allocated seat unless you are purchasing food & beverage, merchandise or using the restrooms, in which case we ask you purchase your items and then move back to your allocated seat as soon as possible.

When you move around the venue foyers, please ensure that you keep your distance from other patrons, where it is practical. There will be queuing systems in place to help usher you through the venue in a safe manner. Please follow the signs and the directions of our staff.

KIOSK AND BAR
Our Kiosk and Bar will be open prior to the performance. To assist with overcrowding in the foyers, we ask that once you have purchased your items, please make your way to your allocated seat for consumption.

AT THE END OF THE SHOW
At the end of the performances, we will be exiting the Town Hall or Arts Theatre through all exits. Once in the foyers, we ask that you promptly move away from the exits to ensure others can leave without congestion.

SANITISING
Hand sanitising stations located at several points of the venue for your use. Please make sure to use these regularly during your visit.

CONTINUOUS CLEANING
Our foyers and auditorium receive a clean after every performance, and staff will remain on site throughout the performance to constantly clean washrooms, touchpoints and high traffic areas.

OUR STAFF ARE HERE TO HELP
Our Staff will monitor everyone’s safety, and to assist you in any way they can. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, please speak to one of our friendly staff.
