Education Resource Boxes

boys-display-case.jpg

We have put together a series of education resource boxes as a platform for teachers to introduce a more ‘hands on’ approach to History in the classroom, as well as an understanding of the history of north-west Tasmania.

Each box has been designed alongside a teacher resource with explicit links to the Australian Curriculum and can be taught accordingly or adapted to suit an existing unit.

The range of topics covered in the boxes include:

  1. Did you get my message(PDF, 7MB)
The history of communication in north-west Tasmania
  2. Chores, chores and more chores(PDF, 7MB)
The history of technology in the home in north-west Tasmania
  3. Are we there yet(PDF, 8MB)
The history of transport in north-west Tasmania

There is a small hire fee of $30 to borrow one of these boxes.

They are available to be picked up from the Burnie Arts & Function Centre Box Office and used in your classroom for a period of up to two weeks.

The accompanying teacher resources are available for download via the above links, as well as in printed form within each box.
