David Rose (1936-2006)
David Rose, born in Melbourne and educated at Melbourne Grammar School, displayed an early ability in and love of art - entering and winning various juvenile painting competitions.
Rose began to establish himself as a full-time artist, painting and drawing in his home studio, from the early 1960’s but he also began experimenting with screen printing which he later became known for.
Rose's exceptional technical skills as a print maker enabled him to express a fine intuitive understanding of the Australian natural environment, and his work received much international acclaim.
The three landscapes on display in our Foyer Gallery were acquired for the collection through various galleries.
