ACO2 Workshops - Wednesday 17 October, 2012
ACO String Workshops give students the chance to be the ACO for a day, learning the rehearsal and performance techniques used by Australia's top string players. Workshops develop students' technical and ensemble skills and their understanding and interpretation of music.
Thematically structured rehearsals, led by ACO musicians, are based around concepts such as listening, leading, breathing, blending and performance style. Students from different schools combine to form a chamber orchestra with ACO players leading each of the sections. Students learn to play in a conductor-less ensemble, culminating in an informal performance for family and friends.
String workshops are free of charge and run for three hours.
