Friend's luncheon at the home of gallery Director Greg Leong
In January this year, Burnie Regional Art Gallery & Arts & Function Centre Director Greg Leong held what he called a bruncheonette for the Friends of the Burnie Regional Art Gallery who engage in many fund-raising activities.
Last year for example, they donated half of the prestigious Burnie Print Prize (totaling $10,0000) matching Council’s contribution dollar for dollar. Recently they donated $2,000 towards a PA system and a large screen for film nights at the gallery.
The bruncheonette was Greg’s personal thankyou for another great year with the Friends. This was a sit-down affair at his home in Chasm Creek for 30. For the starter alone he stir-fried 100 king prawns on his double wok-burner.
Other items on the menu included a cherry glazed ham, a chicken curry, vegetable curry, and chicken roulades. The Friends bought starters and pudding. A fabulous time was had by all.
