In May 2009, a new organisational structure was introduced to the old Civic Centre. Burnie Sports & Events, a separate entity was contracted to manage functions and events, together with catering. While many Council staff became BSE staff, in essence, their jobs did not change.

Stephen has been with BSE since its inception in January 2007 prior to this working for Council for 111/2 years. A career highlight was being involved with the initiating Burnie Sports and Events.

He and his team worked on it for four years before its inception in 2007 and copied models from everywhere and took the best bits out of everything.

Roslyn has been with BSE since September 2007 previously working for Council for 91/2 years. This position brings new and interesting challenges which are faced with a positive outlook. BSE have a great team and work well together to bring community and sporting events to fruition.

Management of venues is also one of the many things that BSE are responsible for and provide catering and venue hire for members of the community.
