Bruce Mathiske Sizzling Strings
A blazing guitar concert with internationally acclaimed guitarist Bruce Mathiske and guest Greg Young on ukulele will be held at the Arts Theatre, Burnie Arts & Function Centre Friday 16 July at 7.30pm.
This extraordinary combination of music maestros have spellbound audiences with their stringed excellence and entertaining presentation, covering many styles of music from Spanish, African, Latin to bluegrass/ country pickin to world, jazz, Gypsy, Celtic, swing and groove.
The Arts Theatre will be positively smoking when these two maestros serve up their evening of Sizzling Strings , says Greg Leong Director of Burnie Art & Function Centre.
A true virtuoso, Mathiske picked up the guitar at the age of seven and is now one of Australia s musical superstars. That early, ten hour a day, practice regime has given Mathiske a rock solid technique that is simply quite dazzling.
Bruce Elder, from the ABC s 7.30 Report described Mathiske as an absolute virtuoso, the best guitarist in Australia.
Mathiske has played for audiences worldwide, from Europe to the US and UK, which included a 14 night season at the Edinburgh Festival early in 2010.
