Australian comedian Damian Callinan will boldly go where very few men have gone through his show Spaznuts on 30 October.

While the title speaks for itself, Callinan will lift the lid on an often taboo topic for men at the Burnie Arts & Function Centre.

Centre Director Greg Leong said the hilarious show delved into Callinan’s own experiences and explored how fertility shapes identity and what one goes through when that option isn’t available.

Having seen Callinan perform live in Melbourne, Mr Leong said Spaznuts was an unforgettable experience.

“Damian Callinan is one of Australia’s most successful comedians who puts on a very entertaining one-man show,” Mr Leong said.

“He has won a swag of Melbourne Comedy Festival Awards and has appeared at the world famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

“I’d encourage everyone to come along and have a laugh.”

Callinan will also hold workshops titled “Tell Us How To Write A Joke”, at Marist Regional College, Burnie High and Parklands High schools before his evening show.

Spaznuts is part of the Burnie Shines celebrations and will be held at the Burnie Arts & Function Centre from 8pm. Tickets cost for $25 for adults and $18 for concession.
