Red Riding Hood with a twist!

Wednesday, 23 September 2015

Terrapin Puppet Theatre’s innovative Red Racing Hood is racing into the Burnie Arts & Function Centre on Tuesday 6 October at 2 pm – just in time for the school holidays.

Terrapin reimagines everyone’s favourite characters from the famous fairytale into the small town of Grinalong. When the new Mayor announces the return of the local motor race, the Grinalong Classic, the whole town is excited. But the race will go through Tangled Woods, where a giant wolf is rumoured to live. With everything she knows and loves at stake, Red must convince her mechanically savvy Gran to let her compete and overcome her own fears in the process.

A large-scale model racetrack, and cameras magnify the live action onscreen, putting the audience in the driving seat, as they follow Red on her adventure.

Red Racing Hood is full of laughs, big dreams, young hearts, and a story that will leave you with that funny feeling you get in your tummy when you go over a bump.

Burnie Arts and Function Centre Director, Geoff Dobson said, “Terrapin Puppet Theatre is famous locally, nationally and internationally, and features wonderful performances, a high-energy soundtrack and distinctive puppetry. This show is not to be missed.”

Red Racing Hood is suitable for primary school-aged students, and group bookings are available for vacation care/school holiday care groups.
