Radical urban circus heading for Burnie

Wednesday, 06 March 2013

360 ALLSTARS is a radical urban circus hitting the Burnie Arts & Function Centre on Friday 22 March at 8pm, in association with Tasmania’s International Arts Festival, Ten Days on the Island.

360 ALLSTARS is a revolutionary production that will leave you dizzy with excitement.

Deputy Mayor Sandra French said, “This phenomenal theatrical performance will be a huge hit with the younger members of our community. Boasting a stellar cast, including world champion athletes, world class dancers and world renowned musicians, the production connects the street with the elite to deliver a radical urban circus.”

360 ALLSTARS reinvents the traditional circus and presents contemporary performance styles instead of conventional circus acts.

Director of the Burnie Arts & Function Centre Geoff Dobson said, “Replace acrobats with break dancers, substitute a basketball freestyler in place of a juggler, swap the unicyclist for a BMX flatlander and throw in a Roue Cyr artist. This is what 360 ALLSTARS is all about. This exciting line up makes for an exhilarating circus performance, like nothing you have seen before.”

With live music from master musician, Gene Peterson, 360 ALLSTARS is as aurally exciting as it is visually astounding.

Showcasing some of Australia’s best performers, alongside celebrated international artists, including the two time BMX Flatlander World Champion, Peter Sore (Hungary), World Champion break dancer, B-boy Physicx (Korea), Australasian B-boy Champion, B-boy Simonster (Australia) and the internationally acclaimed b-ball freestyler, Basketball Man (USA).
