One of Australia’s finest performers in an intimate performance

Tuesday, 25 February 2014

Acclaimed singer-songwriter, Lior, is set to wow Burnie audiences with his intimate acoustic performance at the Burnie Arts & Function Centre this Saturday 1 March at 8pm.

Lior is known for his dynamic and moving performances, and has earned a reputation as one of Australia’s finest live performers.

Deputy Mayor Sandra French said, “It is fantastic to have Lior perform in Burnie. Lior will be enjoyed by all ages, but certainly is very popular and has a large following from a younger audience. It is great that we can attract this style of show and talent to our city.”

Lior burst on to the Australian music scene in 2005 with his stunning debut album Autumn Flow. Spearheaded by This Old Love and subsequent singles Daniel and Autumn Flow, the album became one of the most successful independent debuts in Australian history. Accolades quickly followed with three ARIA Award nominations: Best Breakthrough Artist; Best Male Artist; and Best Independent Release, as well as Triple J’s prestigious ‘J Award’ nomination for Album of the Year.

In February 2008, Lior released his second album, Corner of an Endless Road, which was also released independently. The album debuted at number 2 on the ARIA Australian albums chart and was nominated for the Best Independent Release in the 2008 ARIA Music Awards.

In 2010, Lior released his third studio album, Tumbling into the Dawn. The release of the album was followed by the 2011 European compilation album, 3-2-1. These subsequent releases were also huge successes, earning the gifted songwriter a further three Aria nominations. His much anticipated fourth album is set to be released in March 2014.

In this special performance Lior will be supported by the upcoming star Domini Forster.

Burnie Arts & Function Centre Director, Geoff Dobson said, “Lior is in Burnie for one show only. The concert will be in our theatre, creating a small intimate concert. It will be a very special night. Book quickly.”
