One actor, one mystery script and no rehearsals

Tuesday, 09 September 2014

You are invited to a play, where there will be a mystery actor each show, who will be handed a script for the first time in front of your eyes just as the show starts.

The award winning experimental theatre play, White Rabbit, Red Rabbit by Nassim Soleimanpour will be presented at the Burnie Arts & Function Centre on 18, 19 and 20 September 2014 at 8pm.

White Rabbit, Red Rabbit is an unnerving comedy of human freedom that defies national boundaries, censorship and description.

Deputy Mayor, Sandra French said, “A different unsuspecting performer will take the stage each night, joining the audience on a journey into the unknown; stumbling upon the humorous, terrifying and utterly personal. This internationally acclaimed new work forges connections across time and continents.”

Iranian writer Nassim Soleimanpour had no passport and created this work to feel a sense of freedom. His audacious theatrical experiment will come as a shock — not least to the performer handed the script the moment they walk on stage.

Burnie Arts & Function Centre’s Director, Geoff Dobson said, “White Rabbit, Red Rabbit is a completely new type of theatre. It will be like nothing you have ever seen before. Each show will have a different actor, so no show will be the same  or ever the same again.

“The audience will be seated on the stage so that you are right there with the actor sharing the experience. Seating is limited. Don’t miss out.”
