Move over One Direction – SUADE comes to Burnie

Wednesday, 19 September 2012

Ladies get ready. There are five handsome gentlemen with spine chilling voices on the way to the Burnie Arts & Function Centre.

SUADE is a male a cappella group who will take to the stage this Friday 21 September 2012 at 8pm.

Deputy Mayor Sandra French said, “SUADE are a real surprise package. When you first see them, you could mistake them for the security team. But then they take to the stage. The audience will be left amazed by these five Aussie blokes from Melbourne, who will charm with their lively, cheeky and fun vocal performance.”

Make no mistake, these gentlemen are no choirboys. Using nothing but five well-trained voices and a wicked sense of humour, SUADE takes stages by storm around Australia and around the globe.

Director of the Burnie Arts & Function Centre Greg Leong said, “SUADE have created a new mold when it comes to males choirs. They don’t take themselves too seriously, but boy can they sing. They love what they do and when they tour, they always try to gets hands on with the community to encourage more people to get involved in choirs.

“This concert is co-presented with the Burnie Youth Choir. SUADE are putting on public workshops on Friday 21 September at 10am and 3pm as part of the Arts for the Community program. These workshops will be a great opportunity for local budding singers of all ages to gain some wonderful tips and skills from professional singers.”
